1. Youth under the age of seven (7) must be under the direct supervision of an adult
or in our Y-Care program. Unless involved in a supervised program, 7 and older
children should not be left for any length of time.
2. Adult locker rooms are for ADULT member use only. Anyone with a youth membership or a youth on a family membership must use the youth locker rooms.
3. Lockers are available at no charge on a daily basis or can be rented on an annual basis. Please supply your own rubber-coated lock.
4. The Y reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient registration,
unavailability of instructors or loss of class building space.
5. Cash refunds will not be made, except in cases where the Y has cancelled classes, or the Y receives written notification of the reason class cannot be attended before the first class session. In other extreme cases, letters of credit may be given. This policy also applies to membership.
6. The Y is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles while on Y property. WE
SUGGEST YOU LEAVE YOUR VALUABLES AT HOME OR BE SURE TO
KEEP YOUR LOCKER LOCKED AT ALL TIMES.
7. The YMCA is not responsible for any accidental injury to members and guests while participating in physical activities at the YMCA. Participants assume the risk.
8. NO YOUTH EVER DENIED. This policy of the Board of Directors states that any child may belong to the Y regardless of income or family situation. If you know of a child who would like to belong, but cannot afford to, please notify the YMCA staff.
9. FREE CLASSES. All youth core classes and programs are FREE to YMCA
members. The only cost to children is for the of program uniforms,
tumbling or sports league T-Shirts, swim team or preschool supply fee.
10. Members must have their membership card with them to be admitted to the
Physical facilities. NO CARD, NO ADMITTANCE. Please cooperate and save

REPLACEMENT.
11. The YMCA is classified as a “drug free” zone and, as such, any type of drugs,
tobacco, alcohol or controlled substances are prohibited and penalties for federal
violation are doubled.
12. All attire worn in the YMCA must be appropriate and consistent with the YMCA
Mission. Any attire deemed inappropriate by the YMCA staff will be disallowed immediately.

SEPTEMBER 4 - SEPTEMBER 9, 2007
Your YMCA facilities will be available at no charge during the week of September 4-9, 2007. That’s a week of membership at no cost; use of the weight and cardio rooms, 3 gyms, running track, pool, whirlpool, saunas, racquetball/handball courts and indoor tennis courts – all included in this one week trial membership at absolutely no charge. This does not include fitness classes.
And remember, we have 46 pieces of cardio equipment including treadmills, elliptical machines, recumbent and upright bikes and a 15-piece line of Nautilus equipment – the latest technology to make your workouts as efficient as possible.
Then when you see what complete facilities and programs the YMCA offers, take advantage of the 10% discount on new memberships* during the same week, September 4-9. This is the opportunity to save money that you’ve been waiting for, so be sure to take advantage of this special!!
*A new member is one who has not held a Columbus Family YMCA membership within the last 6 months.

In the event that a YMCA participant is found to be abusive to the YMCA facility, the YMCA staff, other participants or is not following the rules, the following procedures will be followed:
1. The offending individual will be taken to the front desk where parents will be called and notified of the incident.
2. The individual’s membership card will be confiscated and the individual will be excluded from the facility until they can attend the next scheduled discipline class, usually held at 5:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month. Non-members will be handled the same way. The length of exclusion can vary with the severity of the offense.
3. When someone is excluded from the YMCA, it includes all participation in YMCA activities and programs. They will not be allowed inside the building or at any off-side programs.

When you join the YMCA, you become part of the world-wide fellowship of members, all interested in the development of spirit, mind and body. The YMCA of Columbus is an association of members as our name implies, therefore, the responsibility for operation and maintenance of programs and our facilities is yours…the Member The YMCA is owned and operated by the Membership, and governed by their elected Board of Directors. Remember, it is your YMCA. Help keep it in good condition and help the staff with your suggestions and comments.
NO SMOKING
The YMCA announces that “No Smoking” will be honored throughout the Columbus YMCA facilities and grounds in the interest of the health of all members, guests and staff.
YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
This policy of the Board of Directors states that any child may belong to the YMCA regardless of family or financial situation. Subsidized by the United Way and concerned individuals, this program ensures that every youth who so wishes may participate.
COLUMBUS FAMILY YMCA FOUNDATION
The Columbus Family YMCA Foundation strengthens our YMCA for all time. Make a commitment to our Foundation through a bequest in your will, a trust, life insurance policy, an outright gift of cash or securities or a memorial gift.

The YMCA will provide FREE babysitting for parents using the YMCA from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (Monday-Friday) and again from 5:00-8:30 p.m. (Monday-Thursday) and 5:00-7:30 p.m. (Friday). The babysitters are provided for YMCA related activities. Please do not leave the building when your children are with the YMCA babysitters. The Y-Care Room is located on the south end of the Youth Lobby.
