1. Members must scan their membership card to gain admittance to the YMCA. NO CARD, NO ADMITTANCE. Replacing a lost card is $5.00 per card.
2. All attire worn in the YMCA must be appropriate and consistent with the YMCA Mission and related activities. Inappropriate attire will not be allowed in the YMCA.
3. The YMCA is not responsible for personal articles lost or stolen at the YMCA. We suggest you leave all valuables at home or be sure to lock them up while using the facility.
4. Lockers are available on a daily basis at no charge or can be rented on an annual basis. Please use a lock that has a protective cover on it to prevent damage to lockers. Locks may be purchased at the front desk.
5. The YMCA is not responsible for any accidental injury to members and guests while participating in physical activities at our facility or in our programs.
6. The YMCA is classified as a “Drug Free Zone.” Any type of drugs, tobacco, alcohol or controlled substances are prohibited and penalties for violations of this federal classification are doubled.
7. The YMCA is to be a cell phone free area. You may bring your cell phone with you to use for emergencies but it must remain put away. Phones used for videotaping and taking pictures will be confiscated and the offender will be excluded from the building. Phone access is always available at the front desk of the YMCA.
8. The Columbus Family YMCA is a Gang Free Zone. No gang imitation of any kind will be tolerated at the YMCA. This includes but is not limited to: clothing, bandanas, colors, hat positions, throwing signs, and tattoos. Anyone violating this policy will be banned from the YMCA. Appropriate action will be taken against them by the Columbus Police Department.

The YMCA is open and available to all people. Everyone who uses the YMCA and its programs must abide by the YMCA Code of Conduct. This is a code of conduct expected of all YMCA members and participants. Caring, honesty, respect and responsibility are the four key character qualities that YMCA staff model and instill in all programs. We expect nothing less from everyone who participates at the YMCA.
1. Everyone in the building will be treated with respect. This includes actions, words and attitudes. One person is not more important than others.
2. The YMCA is a community environment and certain activities are not permissible to ensure the safety and well-being for all. Smoking, drinking, taking drugs, gang activity, physical, emotional or verbal abuse are prohibited.
3. Taking care of the facility is everyone’s responsibility. If you use it, put it back. If you make a mess, clean it up. If something breaks, let a staff member know. If someone is doing something illegal or wrong, report it right away.
4. Put others first. Take that extra time to give courtesy and respect to those using the facility along with you.
5. All state and local laws will be followed and upheld at the YMCA. Anyone breaking these laws will be excluded from the YMCA and the appropriate legal action will be taken against them.

1. The YMCA reserves the right to cancel any class or program due to insufficient registration, unavailability of instructors or loss of class space.
2. Cash refunds will not be made, except in cases where the YMCA has cancelled classes/programs or the YMCA receives written notification of the reason(s) the class cannot be attended before the first class session.
3. Memberships are sold on an annual basis or on a month to month basis with an automatic bank withdrawal plan. Monthly memberships must be cancelled in writing before the fifth (5th) of each month to stop the automatic withdrawal from the bank. Monthly memberships automatically renew unless cancelled in writing by the member.
4. Financial assistance is available to adults and families to help them become a YMCA Member. Funding from the United Way and from donations from the community enable our YMCA to assist those who are less fortunate but want to belong to the YMCA.

The YMCA will provide FREE babysitting for parents using the YMCA from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday and again from 5:00-8:30 p.m., Monday thru Thursday. The babysitters are provided for YMCA related activities. Please do not leave the building when your children are with the YMCA babysitters. The Y-Care Room is located on the south end of the Youth Lobby.

When you join the YMCA, you become part of the world-wide fellowship of members, all interested in the development of spirit, mind and body. The YMCA of Columbus is an association of members as our name implies, therefore, the responsibility for operation and maintenance of programs and our facilities is yours…the Member The YMCA is owned and operated by the Membership, and governed by their elected Board of Directors. Remember, it is your YMCA. Help keep it in good condition and help the staff with your suggestions and comments.
NO SMOKING
The YMCA announces that “No Smoking” will be honored throughout the Columbus YMCA facilities and grounds in the interest of the health of all members, guests and staff.
YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
This policy of the Board of Directors states that any child may belong to the YMCA regardless of family or financial situation. Subsidized by the United Way and concerned individuals, this program ensures that every youth who so wishes may participate.
COLUMBUS FAMILY YMCA FOUNDATION
The Columbus Family YMCA Foundation strengthens our YMCA for all time. Make a commitment to our Foundation through a bequest in your will, a trust, life insurance policy, an outright gift of cash or securities or a memorial gift.

1. Youth ages six (6) and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times while at the YMCA. Y-Care is available at posted hours for parents of this age of children to enable the parents to utilize the YMCA programs and facilities.
2. The YMCA closes weeknights at 9:00 p.m. for unsupervised youth, ages 18 and under (high school student and below). Parents and their children may use the YMCA together from 9:00-10:00 p.m.. No youth may be in the YMCA after 9:00 p.m. without the direct supervision of their parents.
3. The adult locker rooms are for adult use only. Adults are anyone who is 18 years of age and older and out of high school.
4. All core youth classes and programs are FREE to YMCA members. Special programs such as Day Camp and Pre-School do have a cost due to specific activities in those programs.
5. NO YOUTH EVER DENIED. The Columbus Family YMCA Board of Directors has determined that any child may belong to the YMCA regardless of income or family situation. If you know of a child who would like to have a membership but cannot obtain one, please notify the YMCA.
6. The Columbus Family YMCA has adopted a no-tolerance policy. The first behavior offense: fighting, stealing, sneaking into the YMCA, blatant disrespect to others, foul language, etc., will cause the immediate removal from all YMCA programs and facilities for up to six months. A meeting between the YMCA staff, the offending youth and their parents is required for reinstatement to the YMCA. A second offense after being reinstated will cause permanent exclusion from all YMCA programs and facilities.
7. No youth will be admitted into the YMCA who is not dressed accordingly. You must have exercise/workout type clothing: shorts, tennis shoes, swimming suit, etc. Youth who wish to just wander the halls and “hang out” will not be admitted. Everyone at the YMCA must be there to utilize the facilities and programs offered.
8. Non-members desiring entrance to the YMCA must pay the appropriate day fee, sign the non-member day book, and present their school ID card. You will not be admitted without a school ID card. If your school does not give out ID cards, any other form of picture ID will be required. Your card will be returned to you when you leave the building each night.
