Every YMCA member gets an orientation with a trainer after joining. For your convenience, we have trainers available during the week to teach you how to use the equipment properly. You can always call Jen Brownlow to set up an appointment to meet your needs. Trainer hours are posted in the Weight Room or at the Front Desk.

Do you have a ton of fitness videos that you own and it is just hard to find the time, motivation and space to do them at home. Do them at the YMCA. We have the space and the big screen TV. Find a group of 3 friends and use the YMCA. Members only.

Have you always wanted a basic weight room class and you need to meet more than once to completely understand the machines? Then this class is for you. Work with a trainer for 6 weeks in a small class setting. Learn the basic fundamentals needed to properly use the cardio equipment, Nautilus weight machines and free weights. By the end of the course, you will have the building blocks necessary for a program specific to your goals.

Start date was October 1, 2008 but it’s not too late to sign up for this. Join the Club that lasts a lifetime. Each participant must complete 100 miles in their designated area in swimming, walking or running with a one (1) year period. All members who successfully complete their 100 miles will receive an award and your name will e placed on the YMCA plaque at the Annual Banquet in October. Accumulative miles are awarded at 300, 500, 750 and 1000 mile time frames. Make this your goal from now til September 30, 2009.

Are you new to exercise and don't know where to start? Fitness classes too scary? Start Here!! This 30 minute class will be low impact and a great workout without having to feel uncoordinated.

How does your current fitness level rank among the nation with someone your age, height and weight in: muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, resting heart rate, recovery heart rate, weight and/or % of body fat? Do you need to begin an exercise program or change your current fitness program to improve your health? The YMCA’s way to fitness testing battery can answer all these questions and more.
It includes several basic & simple evaluations:

*3 minute step test
*Sit and Reach
This evaluation is offered to all individuals 19 years and older and takes about 30-40 minutes. All testing is done by appointment only. Contact Jennifer Brownlow at 564-9477 to set up your evaluation TODAY.
