Start & Stay Fit

This challenging 45-minute Wednesday workout will emphasize cardio vascular endurance and increased strength. Throughout a series of stretches, fast paced cardio moves and hand weight workouts, each individual will feel invigorated and pushed to a higher level of fitness. This program will also include periodic luncheon socials to provide the opportunity for fellowship and fun. Care enough to give it a try and take advantage of this class. If you’ve been wanting to try a class and you are looking for a low-impact, easy to follow class, this is for you. This class is for all levels and ages.

SilverSneakers® I – Muscular Strength & Range of Movement
|
|
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support. BRING YOUR WATER BOTTLES

Stretching & Beyond
|
|
Stretching is an important component to any exercise program. It enhances relaxation, it increases flexibility and it is the body’s way of recharging. If your goal is to increase your flexibility, 20 minutes of cardio exercise before the class is recommended. If your goal is to simply relax and recharge, then come as you are. Music and dim lights are incorporated to allow concentration for maximum benefits. Comfortable apparel should be worn to allow proper, unconfined movement. This class is great for all ages and a great class if you are suffering any joint or back problems!
Testimonial – I read in a golf magazine and another place that the best way to stay in shape was by stretching the right way and I found a stretching class at the YMCA. Stretching improves your balance, coordination, CORE muscles, agility and breathing. Thanks to the Columbus Y for offering so many classes for all ages.

Older Adult Luncheon Days

Come have luncheon at the YMCA! On 4 Fridays throughout the year we will be having lunch at the Y. We will order box lunches from area businesses at a small cost and you’ll get to enjoy lunch, cards, games and some great fellowship. Call Jennifer Brownlow for more information. For all ages.
