Youth Development at the Columbus Family YMCA provides the tools youth need to become successful, independent, dynamic community leaders.
The Columbus Family YMCA offers many opportunities for youth in grades Kindergarten to 8th Grade. We aim to foster a warm and comfortable environment where everyone feels welcome. Columbus Family YMCA programs focus on our four core values: Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Caring. Our youth and family programs are designed to develop these values so we can accomplish our mission:to build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities.
Our Columbus Family YMCA school age programs offer a fun, safe place for children. Children enrolled at our Family YMCA school age programs are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities that enhance physical fitness, encourage sportsmanship and promote cooperative learning.
After School
After School Program
Free after-school program sponsored by United Way. Programming for elementary school students (K-4).
Fee: Free for all members and non-members
The YMCA bus will pick up students at school, then bring them to the YMCA for a snack, games, a craft, community time, and homework help. Pre-register online. REGISTRATION REQUIRED.
Monday: Emerson, Homeschool, Immanuel, North Park
Tuesday: Centennial, Columbus Christian, St. Bonaventure, St. Isidore
Thursday: Lost Creek, Shell Creek, West Park
Parents must pick up kids by 5:30pm inside the YMCA.
Birthday Parties
COME CELEBRATE WITH US!
Take the headache out of party planning and let our trained staff help you in having a hassle-free experience your child will remember! All of our parties are two hours in length. This includes time for your choice of activity and access to our party room. Tables and chairs will be set up for you. Bring your cake, presents, and refreshments and come celebrate with us! The birthday child will also receive a special party t-shirt!
POOL PARTY
Celebrate with a splash in our pool! Perfect for all ages. This party includes the first 90 minutes in the pool and the last 30 minutes in our party room for food and presents. Certified lifeguards will be on duty to assure everyone’s safety. All swimmers will be required to take a swim test before entering the pool. Towels are not provided. Our party room accommodates up to 20 children, including the birthday child.

BOUNCEHOUSE PARTY
Choose between the Bounce House, Obstacle Course, and the Slide, or all three for this party! This party includes the first 90 minutes of inflatable fun and the last 30 minutes in our party room. Our party room accommodates up to 20 children, including the birthday child.

PARTY ROOM RENTAL ONLY
If you plan on spending the day in the Fieldhouse, this option is for you! Our party room option includes two hours to come and go as you please. Party guests will either pay our non-member day pass fee of $15, or if they are local members they will be asked to check-in using their membership cards.

BOOKING AND CANCELLATION POLICIES
- We require parties to be booked at least two weeks before the requested date.
- All party dates are tentative until the full payment and registration form have been received in-house.
- Your payment method will be kept on file until after the party, in the event we need to charge a cleaning or damage fee.
- To receive the membership discount, the Birthday Child must be on a valid Columbus Family YMCA Membership.
- Each child will require a liability waiver signed by their parent/guardian.
- Cancellation Policy: Any party not cancelled with a 48-hour notice will be non-refundable.
- In the event a pool party is canceled due to lightning, refund eligibility will be determined at the discretion of the Youth Director
Child Watch
The YMCA provides free childcare for children ages 6 weeks old to 6 years of age. Children are our business. The littlest Y members need special care so parents can utilize the YMCA. This program is for members using the YMCA for classes, programs or individual exercise. Parents must remain in the building while their child is in Child Watch.
Ages 6 weeks–6 years old.
Two (2) hour limit in Child Watch each day.
This is a Members only program—Day fee’s are not eligible for this.
No Child Watch on Sundays.
CHILDREN YOUNGER THAN 10 years of age may not be left at the Y without their parent/guardian in the Y at the same time.

8:00 AM—11:00 AM
Monday–Thursday
4:30 PM—8:00 PM
No Child Watch Friday evening, Saturday evening, or anytime on Sunday.
